Douglasville “Old Fashion Holiday” Event 2007

This holiday season will bring out the glitter all around Atlanta, and Douglasville is certainly no exception. Now in its seventh year, the Douglasville “Old Fashion Holiday” event will culminate with a candlelight tour of homes and buildings in the city's charming downtown historic district. Douglasville's Commercial Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Saturday, December 1, 2007 will kick off the weekend with the Cafe Noel on O’Neal Plaza at 4 p.m. The Cafe Noel will feature festive food and music leading up to a Holiday concert beginning at 5 p.m. followed by the lighting ceremony of the unique tree of lights atop the fountain on O’Neal Plaza at 6 p.m. The food and entertainment will continue up to the beginning of the home tour at 6:30 p.m. Luminaries will light the way down Campbellton Street for this year’s tour. Due to popular demand, the tour will once again be repeated the following afternoon, Sunday December 2 from 1-5 p.m.

Tickets for either tour are normally $10 each, but a family can purchase four tickets for $25 (a $40 value) when booking a room at participating Douglasville hotels. From Atlanta, Douglasville is easily accessed via Interstate 20 West with the Downtown Welcome Center located off Exit 37. Visitors can follow the Tourist Information signs directly into the Downtown Historic District.

Call 770-947-5920 or 1-800-661-0013 for questions and additional information on securing tickets. To discover more about the charm of Douglasville and a complete list of hotels click HERE
